Our story
The shop drivers come back to for decades
Action Auto Care is a car repair and maintenance shop on 17th Street in San Francisco, led by Robert Kim. Customers who found us more than twenty years ago still bring us their cars today — and now they're sending their kids. We do our own assessment of every vehicle before we touch a wrench. If a repair isn't necessary, we'll tell you. If a repair doesn't make sense for your car, we'll tell you that too — even when it means less work for us. We're open Monday through Friday, 7:15 AM to 6:00 PM. Bring us the quote another shop gave you, and we'll give you an honest second opinion.
- Independent assessments — we verify what other shops quote
- No upselling, ever — repairs only when they're needed
- Perfect 5★ Google rating across 164 reviews
- Trusted by the same families for 20+ years
What customers say
“Nissan quoted me nearly $4K, so I decided to take my car to Action Auto Care instead. Robert was so transparent and communicative — he even did his own assessment of my vehicle and communicated what actual fixes were necessary. My car is now in great condition and received the care it needed for half the price!”
“Amazing shop! Always take my car here if another shop tells me I need work. Always very open and communicative on what work is actually needed and why. Great customer service, fair pricing, amazing turn around time!”
“Been taking my cars (Toyota Scion, Honda FIT) to Robert for many years. He is always honest, fair and great to work with. Highly recommend!”
